“I believe that this could very well be looked back upon as the sin of our generation . . . and our children 40 to 50 years from now are going to ask ‘what did you do while 40 million children became orphans in Africa?’ ”
Richard Stearns, President, World Vision USA
KasCare Inc. was formed in 2009 to help address this issue. We have two programs: Knit-a-square which asks the 53 million known knitters and crocheters in the USA and elsewhere in the world to send 8”/20cm squares to South Africa where they are made up into blankets to warm the children, many of whom are infected or affected by HIV/AIDS.
KasKids™ is a schools program which involves junior and senior students in multiple activities to help the orphans, including an awareness raising activity, Pledge to Tell. Our goal for 2011 is to inform 500,000 people across the world of the plight of the orphans, and to ask them to act through this activity.
Now we invite you to be part of our new grass roots movement, Pledge for an Orphan, which aims to raise awareness of, and funds for, these children.
The more people who know and talk about these children, the greater the chance they there will be that action will be taken to address HIV/AIDS and poverty in Africa. This in turn will help stem this terrible tide of young babies and children being left to fend for themselves in a harsh world of poverty.
KasCare’s Pledge for an Orphan, gives you many options to help us raise awareness, keep the children warm and support us to expand our work to reach more and more people, who in turn, will Pledge for an Orphan. Here are the Pledge options:
Pledge your Word

Pledge a Dollar a Day

Pledge your School

Pledge your Community

Pledge a Square
